Here’s the first part of a release number 50 from the British Silver Planet. That’s the jubilee item, so must be unusual. Initially I thought there may appear remixes of some classic tunes from the label catalogue, done by artists who are currently on top. It turned out that my presumptions where only half-true.
The first track was done by Luke Chable, remixing... Chris Salt! So not a classic tune, but the utterly fresh premium track “Dub Sonar”, which has been charted by many great DJs around the world. Chable has also confirmed his ability to produce many times before, nevertheless taking such an order made him showing off a huge courage. Did he louse up? Fortunately not, there’s nothing big about it though. The arrangement masterpiece has been simplified in principle into two themes of which only one can be called original. Very poorly.
On the flip side... Chris Salt! If there’s someone listening to one of his tracks who doesn’t recognize the producer, means that this is probably the first occurrence. His sound is so characteristic that it’s hard to be not identified. Same applies to the “Delta of Venus” remix, which has been formed by Chris in a completely new way. His own way, which is slightly jazzy keyboard arrangements and a tough, breaky background of the rhythm section with the awesome bassline parts in the breakdowns. This is what I call a remix!
A big A to Chris for both: the idea and the hard work wich he has done to this production. Thereby he confirms that he’s been climbing the very straight path of his own career. However Luke completes another average production what doesn’t rather bode well. I would suggest a few weeks of vacation.
