We’re in the middle of holidays so it’s the highest time to review a few summer songs. On the beginning a new release from recently founded Dutch label, Summum Records. That’s an imprint of the Essential Dance Music, responsible for a whole bunch of so-called trance chaff. I need to confess that when I saw the EDM logo on the disc, I felt a bit scared, though as soon as with the very first sounds I became completely calm.
The release is opening a remix from Nocando, which is a collaboration of the authors themselves, who also work together under such cover. A very lively vocal track – sounds like a rock hit from the American movies of the 90s. Electronic imitations of guitar riffs harmonize pretty well with the arrangement of trancey keyboards and echoes of percussion pads.
Luke Star’s remix – a one of producers recording for another label owned by Yves Eaux, Vulcanic – singles out slightly acid blended sounds of the synthesizers and the very heavy rhythm. Unfortunately the vocals appear in the middle of this track too, what spoils my whole head banging play. I think there could be one version without it.
The producers pair of LeRon and Yves Eaux had his debut under mentioned before Nocando, releasing the famous “Livin’ In a New World” single. The winning streak lasts, because the original mix is the richest and frankly speaking the best track on the vinyl. This constitutes a proof of thesis, that dance music from Holland can be also a high quality stuff.
