I have recently bought a red t-shirt with a “Türkiye” label in front and a “9” in the back. It doesn’t mean I’m a fanatical fan of Turkish football, the reasons for that were utterly different. One of them is just turning round on my turntable, and this is the second item from the Red Flag Collective imprint.
On the A side, a track produced by Subsky in the Spring last year, called “Let It Flow”. I remember when Yunus finished his set with it during his first visit in Poland, and since then the track always makes me think of sunrise in a warm morning. I am not going to focus on unquestionable artistic values of the track, because the first fiddle here are played by emotions. That’s a very optimistic piece, a perfect cure for every problem. Interesting, that he’s had to start his own label to release that beauty.
On the AA side, a quite different atmosphere. It’s very hot right now, 28 Celsius degrees outside, inside only few degrees less. Although the deep and warm bassline of “Particular People” makes me shiver, which usually means that I deal with an exceptional piece. And indeed, after intently listening to the tracks’ composition I state that its perfect. Muzo, also known as Muzo B, has released a few tracks to Silver Planet, Confi-Dance and Segment Records, though the “Particular People” beats everything he’s done before.
The single was number one on the Balance Record Pool Chart in the last week of July. It also deserves the highest note on Sound Revolt. And the t-shirt – in a tribute to Turkish producers – I’m still going to wear.
