When I was a kid my first football love was the Argentina national team. Diego Armando, Claudio Caniggia and Goycoetchea are not in the forefront of their discipline anymore and my passion towards it is not that strong as well. I’ve got a new passion but it seems that Argentina also has a lot to offer in this matter. Manuel Sofia a.k.a. MOS moved to Barcelona, however his Pissed Off Recordings was set up to promote artists from his homeland. The launch of the label should be heard worldwide as the owner’s own “Elektrify” is the catalog’s number 1. Even though this track has been making my head shake during the summer holidays thanks to Manuel’s mix for 34bpm I still listen to it with unconcealed pleasure. It’s a strutting gem based on something I like calling the Cattaneo beat. A powerfully humming bass together with a mysterious background and xylophone alike synths form a killer tune. Not less brilliant is the flip by Subsky who changed almost everything. Only the melody remained untouched but it is not the original one that plays the first fiddle in this remix. Extremely rich sounding synths in the breakdown and their subsequent arrangement make me pay homage to the Turkish producer. There are days when my brother parades with “Turkye” on his chest and I think it’s high time I bought myself a white T-shirt with blue stripes. Just to keep the balance. Comments[5]
